I can share information about my experiences with microphones and I will provide a page that will give you the information so you can make a choice for yourself. I am not recommending any particular company. I'm just giving you the information I used to make my own decision.

I am looking for a microphone that is durable and is wireless.

I currently have a very good microphone

VXI TalkPro USB-100. I really like the feature of mute built into the microphone cord. If the computer is processing information I can stop the sound. Take a look at the video.

having wires on my keyboard, mouse, and headset really become a hassle, so I am looking for a good wireless headset.

Sennheiser BW 900

I am finding that this is the most recommended manufacturer of microphones for dictation software and everyone that I've seen so far is giving it high reviews. This new technology is bringing Bluetooth to a usable level for dictation usage.

 

The Sennheiser ME 3 is widely considered the best microphone for speech recognition applications. It features superb accuracy and unrivaled noise canceling abilities. This is our personal favorite wired microphone and the one - in our opinion - to which all others are compared. I have never seen this in action, but it does have some high ratings.

Plantronics CS-50USBThis microphone has a very high rating and I really liked having this microphone when it worked. After having it a couple of months I kept finding that when I built up static electricity that the headset would disconnect from the base. I found that after this had happened 3 to 4 times that I wouldn't be able to get it to work at all. I went through three units all with the same problem. The location I was working at was in direct line of telephone satellite dishes.

When I contacted tech support I was told that they never had this type of problem before. each microphone was replaced without any problem and they had great tech support.

Being able to dictateWithout having everyone around me here is extremely important when I am in a conference room setting.

I feel a little funny putting this device up to my face and talking, but it is much better than having people glare at me and wanting to say be quiet. Being able to take notes for myself is an important skill to have.
